Steak plates are great! An upgraded version of traditional Hawaiian plate with steak cooked fresh to your liking. Prices are reasonable for Waikiki. Only reason they don't get 5 stars is that they don't accept credit cards. I tried to stop after a long run and I had my room key and a CC, and I had to miss it that night.

Found this shack thanks to Yelp. Food was fast and very flavorful. Ordered the chicken plate and steak plate. Steak was super tender, my wife loved it. Chicken was tender and very flavorful too. Didn't add any extra sauce but didn't think it needed it. Gotta be one of the best deals on Waikiki for the quality of food you get. Will be back before we go home to the mainland! Service was also on point, Mahalo!

My husband and I came here and got overcooked over-seasoned food. I can still taste the Montreal steak seasoning. There is nothing to boast about by any means. I’d usually blame the first bad plate from a place on it being busy but there were only 2 people. Do not recommend!

Clearly I’m not alone in this, look at most recent reviews people. I made the mistake of looking at the “most relevant” and was fooled. We ordered here yesterday (Sunday). There was no one in sight so we thought we’d give this place a try. To our surprise, we found a ROACH in our salad, plus we saw roaches crawling out of the window. Disgusting!

Fast friendly and courteous staff. Service was extremely quick. The steak was cooked to order and seasoned perfectly. Absolutely loved it! Looking forward to going back. Mahalo Steak Shack!

Awesome eatery on the beach in Waikiki... We ate here several times during our 12 day stay. My 16 year old son absolutely loves it... would probably eat here all the time if he could. Excellent food at a very fair price. The steak is very tasty. Great customer service too. They take cash and credit cards.

I dream about this steak plate with rice. It's a walk up stand with a few seats around to sit and eat on the beach. It is a nice cheap and quick lunch place before you head out to walk around waikiki.

We ate ALOT during our 7 days on the island. I was traveling with my mom and my aunt, both picky eaters. This was hands down our favorite meal. You can’t beat enjoying delicious steak on the beach. The price was reasonable, the service was great, the food was mouth watering, and the view was awesome.

I took a vaction for 2 weeks and ate here almost everyday! Even twice in one day! The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing! Their prices are very cheap/affordable for Waikiki, especially for what you get. The portions are very generous as well and you get to enjoy an ocean view. If you're visiting, or even live near here, this place is a must visit for your steak and chicken needs. 10/10.

Tucked away behind Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort & the Hawaii Army Museum we found this awesome food shack. Great smells, hot food and ready to eat really quickly. Went for the chicken. Just loved it. Ample portion size with salad.

Best plate lunch I had in Waikiki. Joe Jo cooked the steak perfectly, well-done. Great value at $9.50 per plate. Tons of juicy, grilled steak was piled high on steamed white rice with a generous side of salad. Mmmm... Friendly staff. This is a must visit location when visiting Waikiki neighborhood.

Fantastic find, food was great! Tiny store that was a little shack, appropriate name! Very cost effective compared to anywhere else in Honolulu. We will be back, staff of 3 was very friendly and barely fit in the shack! Lol

Got the 10oz steak plate, medium rare, with ranch for the salad. Steak was well seasoned but could’ve been more tender. Get a little rice, steak, salad and ranch on your fork and it’s a great bite! Huge plate of food, enough for 2 people if you’re not starving. We grabbed a couple of beers from the souvenir shop next door to wash everything down. Lots of seating along the side. Excellent location, right on the beach. It’s not the best steak you’ll ever have, but it’s pretty good for the fact that it’s coming out of, literally, a tiny shack. Great value for this area and always awesome to support local businesses!

After several days in Waikiki. This has become my go to place. They are the best bang for your buck in Waikiki. This place doesn't have that many things on the menu, but what they do have is done to perfection. They serve either/or grilled steak and chicken on a bed of rice with a side salad. This might not sound exciting, but the seasoning on the food is on point and grilled with a perfect char. By placing the meat on the rice, it is able to absorb all the wonderful meat flavors, just enhancing it that much more. The greens are a typical spring mix and come with a side of dressing. The price per person can vary but for under $20 you can feed even the hungriest NFL player or a couple of people. The staff are also very friendly and are more than happy to make recommendations. The views from here are world class, and there is even covered seating nearby. Overall this is must try if you are visiting Waikiki.

The food here was very good and filling. If you are familiar with Gushi in Los Angeles, it reminded me a lot of their food. The view from the tables closer to the beach was also wonderful.

This food is awesome, i would get the combo. Either way you can't go wrong with either one. I usually prefer steak over chicken but the chicken is pretty damn good. !!

Staff was friendly and quick for how busy they are. Food was great as well as portion size. 6 ounce steak with rice and a salad for < $10? Yes please! Would recommend to others and eat there again.

Was expecting a little more but that was just me. Got the 10oz steak meal. Steak is chopped then grilled. Basic S&P seasoning. Served over rice, 1/3 tray is filled lettuce. Dressing in a container. Good scenery/seating.

It's a good snack and the steak was very tasty! The place is a bit hard to find and the side salad that was served didn't seem fresh. Also, be aware, cash only!

Steak cooked the way you like it (medium for me). Good price for the amount of food you get. Friendly and quick service too. I was actually really happy they have the mixed greens/spinach salad.

Small place 3 steps off the beach. Take out window with a few outside tables and chairs. Steak and chicken plates come with rice and salad w/choice off ranch, Italian or thousand island. Very tasty!!! Ate and watched the sunset, amazing! The chicken is yummy as well. Highly recommend this place!

Came across this small place while exploring every street in Waikiki. Staff were were friendly. I ordered the steak and chicken combo. It was perfect and the view over the beach made it all the better. I will be back again each day while I have only 3 days left on my vacation.

I’ve been in the Waikiki area for two weeks now and have made it a mission to try as many places in the area that I could before leaving. Of all the places, very few had a decent amount of food (and good flavor) for the price paid. This place was one of those and did not disappoint! I got the combo plate (chicken and steak) which I highly recommend so you can have both. It’s also right on the beach so the location is very convenient.

Simple menu but it's SO good. Steak or chicken(dark only) only, very juicy, simple seasoning, Hot off the griddle. (must eat when hot, loses flavor when cools) very aloha service 😃

Good value.I had the chicken and steak combo for 13.75 (no drink). The steak pieces tasted a little better to me than the chicken, but the chicken was still OK. Next time I'd get all steak :) Both were cut into pieces so you don't have to try and cut them with a plastic fork.Outside seating only with an ocean view as shown.

Great food with amazing location. Ordered their combo platter. both steak and chicken was well marinated and perfectly cooked. Considering the price the amount and quality is great. I was so impressed that went there twice more while I stayed on the island. A definite must stop for waikiki beach goers!

I don’t get the hype of this place. I waited over 10 minutes for my steak plate and realized no one was even cooking it. Then I waited another 5 minutes for my food and what came? Overcooked chewy meat with their “house teriyaki sauce” which is very clearly a store bought Hawaiian BBQ sauce that you can get at any store. Don’t lie about your food. Terrible food but can’t complain about the price. Cheap price for cheap food.

FUN SPOT FOR QUICK LUNCH It's a cool little outdoor snack shop with very tasty grilled steak medallions, salad, and rice served in a styrofoam box to be enjoyed at little bistro tables out on the deck. The atmosphere here is the beach and sea right in front of you as you enjoy your lunch. Looks like a spot the locals frequent.

Ordered the 6oz. Steak plate. It comes with rice and a green salad. The steak was cooked exactly to order and had a very good flavor. I recommend drizzling the teriyaki sauce over your steak and rice. A very good lunch for less than $10! We sat and enjoyed the people watching and beach views.

My husband gets to travel to Hawaii for work a lot and stays in Waikiki. He goes every day for lunch or dinner. I've been to Hawaii twice now and we make it a point to go as much as possible. It's so good so reasonably priced and beautiful views. The steak is the best option. My only wish is I had the marinade recipe so I could make it back home on the East coast when we are not in Hawaii

Found this place randomly just by walking, glad we did! Ended up going back the next day it was so good. The steak plate on rice with teriyaki sauce was bomb 👌🏽. Will definitely be back.

A little hard to find, seems like Google Maps has the location wrong, as this is right on the water. Walk up and order at the window, about the time you wait in line to order is the time you will wait to get your food. Worth it! Very good.

One of the best and most affordable meals were here in Waikiki. The beef is cooked to order and the vegetables were very fresh also. Small seating area outside is available, though can be quite hot in the afternoon.

Alright this place is truly unreal. This was some of the best steak/chicken I ever had.Comes with salad and rice and totally worth the wait.The line might be long but don’t be discouraged. I want to give a big shout out to Mr. Joe. I was blessed to be able to visit Hawaii for my birthday, while there I enjoyed sometime at Waikiki Beach. There on the beach is this great carryout named the Steak 🥩 Shack. When I say this place is delicious 😋 trust me it’s delicious. I ordered the combo which includes chicken and steak strips with rice 🍚 and a salad 🥗. Mr. Joe made sure everything was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I was blessed again to be able to spend Christmas 🎄 and the New Year holiday in Hawaii, I made sure to visit my favorite restaurant/carryout when I arrived and on my last day there. Mr. Joe and staff are just awesome. If you are ever in Honolulu Hawaii please do yourself a favor and go to the Steak Shack on Waikiki Beach.

Best bang for your buck in Waikiki! Walk up ordering, cash only. 6 oz of steak cooked to order with a salad and rice $9.00!!! Eat on the beach or at the stools by the shack. The steak is cooked to your preference and is amazing.
